Not really a proper update...
Aug. 13th, 2006 01:29 pm... but. Been away for a bit - to Wales, which was lovely. I even managed to remember the camera this time, but most of the photos are either bad or boring - partly because I was half-blind most of the time (having lost sun-glasses just before leaving and having very sun-sensitive eyes). Excuses, excuses! Also iPhoto decided it's an ex-programme recently, so I'd to put everything into flickr to save it. And then, Charlie and I went to a cafe in Aberdyfi which had lovely place-mats made from photos of stones, so I took many pics of stones, and I'm kind of obsessive about the view from the back (stern - woman!) of the Stenaline ferry, which seems quite magical to me, so many of those. Anyway - in the unlikely event anyone still wants to see them after all that, you can do so here.
But this photo here for sartorias so she doesn't have to bother - real clouds as well as the water!

Pandemonium erupted while I was away, and I just want to say publicly that my two daughters are amazing. I'd never have gone away had there been any reason to expect this, but they coped incredibly well.
I have been reading, and will at some point do a proper report on the recent reads, but not quite now. Currently in Mythago Wood, which I feel I should be loving much more than I am.

Date: 2006-08-17 11:15 pm (UTC)I'm glad to hear that other people get that feeling that they should be enjoying a book more than they are! Generally I take it as a sign I need to re-read the book another time, but sometimes it's just a good book that doesn't fit.
Fire and Hemlock.
Date: 2006-08-28 11:36 am (UTC)I hope this is not too forward, but I recently finished reading Diana Wynne Jones' "Fire and Hemlock" for the fifth time, and I am no further towards understanding the ending. I read on your page at BookCrossing.com that you would be willing to explain it.
I realise that was a long time ago, but if the offer is still open, my email address is nickmorrison25@gmail.com .
Yours faithfully, Nick Morrison.
P.S. Forgive me for having to post here, it was the only way I could find of contacting you.
