Lifted from [livejournal.com profile] marthawells and [livejournal.com profile] vierran45 - good company!

1. Sat on Richard Burton's lap (too young to be interested except for watching them make him up).

2. Been attacked by a pet raven. (Attack possibly caused by owner's being misogynistic - he explained it as being because the bird wasn't used to and therefore didn't like girls with bare legs!)

3. Appeared on national (US) t.v. as a protester at a rally in Washington D.C. - with pizza on my face, according to my ex.

4. Gone into tetany from hypokalemia (translation - blood potassium levels went so low my muscles all spasmed, because I'd been given a strong diuretic by mistake after dehydrated already by G.I. flu). Very frightening!

5. Baked 'peace bread' and shared it in the Mayor's office - with the Mayor and the local press and other organisers of a Sister-city programme with a Russian city.

6. Preached a sermon (unusual for those who aren't in the clergy, at least in my denomination!).

7. Sent a signed-to-me by the author copy of Deep Secret around the world to a bunch of complete strangers.

8. Been sent to the emergency room of a local hospital for chicken pox as an adult. (The humiliation was the only thing that could have made me feel more miserable than I did already)

9. Been told that a to-be-published book will be dedicated to me. (Still very excited about this!)

10. Been mistaken for a prostitute - while a high-school student going to grinds, wearing jeans and a very baggy and very body-covering army jacket.

No. 10 happened to me, when I was coming from work dressed in smart jacket, below-the-knee straight skirt, and smart high-heeled boots. (I was 17, and innocent enough that it was only five minutes later that I realised what "Are you doing business?" actually meant!)

I was 16 and it took me a minute too! At least you sound as if you were dressed professionally (even if not that profession), while I was scruffy and even had a backpack full of books. Heading to the Institute, of course. I'd just come from seeing my mother who'd had a hysterectomy a few hours before, and was already freaked by that, so it wasn't a great night all told.

I'm working on my own list (danced in the Albert Hall is the obvious #1, and yes, the audience packed it to capacity, thank
you).

#6 I've done (as has LJ:satyrica, who put it on his list)
#7 There was only one copy of _Deep Secret_ at the Forbidden
Planet signing, as DWJ's jinx hit the lorryload of pre-release
copies instead of her, for once, so Eleanor and I got it signed
for Mahlet, who couldn't be there (but claimed reading rights
until we had our own).
#9 I've got books and theses dedicated to me (even the occasional
sole credit), as well as an acknowledgement in a very famous
book, a famous literary character partly based on me, and a DWJ
character with my birth name and some congruence after she knew
I was using the ID of one of her characters as an online ID.
Difficult to swagger more transparently without revealing my
identity... ;-)

#3 - alas, no. I've only been on UK national TV.

Impressive swaggering nonetheless. ;) I know your identity, of course, which helps, but on 9 - I'm pretty sure I remember the acknowledgement, and think I know the DWJ characters involved, but will you disclose which literary character is partly based on you?

I've had a thesis dedicated to me, in the give the devil his due category - a very nice dedication, from my ex. (Early days)

Will have to go check out satyrica's list!

unfortunately, the literary character is going to be recognisable
to a huge number of LJers, so it will have to be in email. There
were two other people in the character conception, as well as a
separate visual basis for the appearance (i.e. the character looks
nothing like any of the three people who inspired it)
