In lieu of a proper update....
Dec. 5th, 2007 10:26 am... the coolest thing: November 2007 Locus just arrived and there's an interview with Kelly Link* (author, editor and publisher, for anyone deprived of first-hand acquaintance). I turned to this first, and nearly fell over with delight to discover that she mentioned Older Daughter by name! [ETA - as one of just two "up-and-coming writers" in fantasy.] This is in a section on the field and follows this line: '... so I see a lot of the short fiction by newer writers. The field is very lively right now...' I phoned OD, waking her up to tell her about this, so excited that I'd totally lost my voice, and her response was ecstatic but unprintable. :)
[calming breath] Right. Been having intermittent problems getting on-line, and for that and other reasons, I'm way behind in reading blogs, so apologies if I haven't commented! I should be catching up today, and posting after, before most likely getting behind again over the weekend, when I'm off to the UK.
* I was raving about Kelly Link from my first encounter with her, which was the short story "The Faery Handbag", and was long before she published OD!
