So, Wednesday morning, bright (no, it was dull and very, very cold then) and early, I was on a train to Malahide, where [livejournal.com profile] dorianegray's mother managed to extricate me from even the inner thermal vest (black, thin, with lace, M&S - it's the good one!) and get me into what must be one of the most gorgeous attires ever worn by bridesmaid, matron-of-honour - bridal attendant ever. Not only did her mother make both dress(es) and jacket(s), she designed the patterns as well. I also saw Dorian's dress/jacket, which are stunning. And despite Daphne's plaintive comment that she has 'no conversation' - I met her before her life was taken over by seamsstressing, and it isn't even true now.

I have my shoes all bought, a couple of inches of my hair chopped off (by O.D. with the kitchen scissors) and am about to trot off to Fun Laoghaire and get my eyelashes dyed for the occasion. Never done this before, but had a patch test yesterday so there will presumably be no untoward swellings-closed of eyes, and honestly don't need the mascara smudges pooling in the under-eye circles. Then off to collect Charlie from the airport and hang out in town or Malahide until the rehearsal.

*1 - Reading material on the trip over and back was The Water Babies, which is very interesting, and words on the subject will be forthcoming.

*2 - Only other time I was in a wedding, my dress was a nightmare. Not peach fluff, but as bad. Story forthcoming too.

*3 - Fun Laoghaire it is in this family (or Fun L), after we all sent a few text messages calling it that. A heroic name to live up to is good for everyone/where, right?

*4 - Life can be interesting, can't it? Met Dorian AND Charlie through the DWJ list. That's one hard-working list....
